Could be the final sighting of this particular water snake. Since these photos were taken on October 3, 2020, the Charlotte area endured significant flash flooding after heavy rains. Clark’s Creek overflowed and debris was washed downstream. Most of the area where this snake (and others like it) has been spotted for years was eroded and reconfigured. We’ll keep looking – but so far there has been no sign of snake life at what has consistently been an active nest.
